Michelle Obama: ‘How Dare Someone Tell Me I Don’t Love My Country’

In a sit-down interview with Oprah Winfrey as part of her book tour, former first lady Michelle Obama discussed on Tuesday life in the White House.

Obama, speaking in front of a large crowd at Chicago’s United Center, challenged anybody who called into question her love for the country.

“I’m finally claiming, my story is the quintessential American story. Yes, I’m black. Yes, I’m a woman and yes, I grew up working class and my parents didn’t get to finish college. How dare someone tell me I don’t love my country.”
