Yankees Pitcher Luis Severino Says He Learned English from Watching ‘Friends’

New York Yankees ace Luis Severino revealed Monday on “The Jim Rome Show” he learned English from watching hit sitcom “Friends.”

The 24-year-old pitcher signed with the Yankees in 2011 out of the Dominican Republican and told Jim Rome he decided to learn the language so he could order food and communicate with his teammates.

“I love English, learning,” Severino said.

“I love watching ‘Friends,'” he added. “I think I learned a lot of English from watching ‘Friends.'”

Severino went on to say that coming to the United States made him “grow up more as a man.”
