Republican representative-elect Dan Crenshaw commented on his recent appearance on NBC’s Saturday Night Live Monday, imploring Americans to “stop looking for reasons to be offended.”
“It felt good. It felt like the right thing to do, and I would appreciate if everybody would stop looking for reasons to be offended, and that’s what this was all about,” Dan Crenshaw said on the Today show.

Crenshaw appeared on SNL over the weekend to bury the hatchet with comedian Pete Davidson, who previously made light of Crenshaw losing an eye fighting in Afghanistan.
“This guy is kind of cool — Dan Crenshaw. You may be surprised to hear he’s a Congressional candidate from Texas and not a hitman in a porno movie,” Davidson said last week, adding, “I’m sorry, I know he lost his eye in war, or whatever. Whatever.”
The jab resulted in outrage from many across the political spectrum, with some labeling the comments “disgusting.”
Crenshaw, sitting next to Davidson Saturday, said, “There’s a lot of lessons to learn here. Not just that the left and the right can still agree on some things, but also this: Americans can forgive one another.”
“We can remember what brings us together as a country and still see the good in each other. This is Veterans Day weekend, which means that it’s a good time for every American to connect with a veteran.”
